Tutors page

Ali Burns is well known to people who regularly sing at Laurieston Hall. One of Britain’s favourite workshop leaders, she has largely built her reputation by teaching her own material. The Raven was the first song cycle she wrote and it has all the hallmarks singers have come to love about her work: beautifully crafted songs, transcendent harmonies and simple, profound text.

Wendy Stewart

Wendy Stewart is renowned for her enthusiasm in making harp playing accessible! Last year on Band of Song she arrived with 12 Celtic harps and proceeded to entice and entrance the whole group into learning how to play. On this week she’ll be taking harp lessons for beginners and experienced people alike and adding in some newly composed tunes, bass-lines and general harp lushness into the final recordings.
