Eleanor Rastall, Soprano

Eleanor studied Human Science at St Anne’s College, Oxford before moving to London to pursue a singing career. She achieved distinctions in both the Performance Studies (Opera) Certificate of Continuing Education (2008), the Certificate of Higher Education (2009) at Birkbeck College, and is currently studying for a Masters in Vocal Performance at Trinity College of Music in London.
Recent highlights include soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah (Orpington and Leamington Spa) and in Mozart’s Requiem (Orpington); recitals of Schumann’s Frauenliebe und Leben (London and Haslemere); performances as Belle Canto in Belle Canto’s Opera Hour at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, including opera scenes and a newly-written linking script; specially written period performances with Trio Literati in Yorkshire; 1st Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (London); Gherardino in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Blackheath Halls); and workshopping the new opera Circus Tricks with Tête à Tête Opera.
Eleanor is also the singing teacher for St Edmunds School, Hindhead. Her pupils have recently performed solos in Handel’s Messiah with Godalming Choral Society and appeared in the finals of the 2011 BBC Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year competition.
