Saturday 24th September 2011, 7.30pm “Wurlitzer and Friends”
A glamorous organ complete with coloured lights, unusual instrumental arrangements and a soprano in evening dress draped over a piano...

The centrepiece of this concert is The Mighty Wurlitzer - a whole orchestra in one instrument, originally designed to rise out of the cinema floor and accompany silent films. It will not only be heard as a solo instrument (organist Chris Barber) but will also provide the orchestral accompaniment to featured soloists Jan Hytch (Trumpet and Flugel Horn), Paula Popa (Harp) and Eleanor Rastall (Soprano).
This concert is being staged at the Musical Museum, Brentford, to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. The performance includes such diverse pieces as Misty, 12th Street Rag, Ave Maria, You’ll Never Walk Alone and Cry Me A River.
Tickets are £12.50 each and include a glass of champagne on arrival. They are available from the Museum box office or on the door. For further information or to book tickets please contact The Musical Museum: 0208 5608108, www.musicalmuseum.co.uk.
